Kaleo sec/Tech storekeeper jailed for stealing books

Wa, March 30, GNA – A Wa Circuit Court has sentenced a 55- year-old storekeeper of Kaleo Secondary Technical School to five years imprisonment for stealing and selling school property.

The convict, Nurideen Adams who pleaded guilty, was sentenced on his own plea while the second and third accused who pleaded not guilty would re-appear in court on Friday March 31 2006.

Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Stephen Dobara said between September 2005 and February 2006 the convict stole books of the school valued at 3.5 million cedis and sold them to Lawrence Dogbey and Rose Kaasun at Wa. He said a former student of the school and the assistant headmaster of the school who both saw the stamp of the school on the books reported to the headmaster who reported to the Wa police.
