Kaleo commissions 161 m.-cedi school block

Kaleo (U/W), May 7, GNA – Mr David Osei-Wusu, Upper West Regional Minister, on Saturday commissioned a 161 million-cedi six-classroomed block at Kaleo in the Nadowli District with a call on parents to send their children to school to justify the huge investment in the project.

“It will be demoralising and discouraging if children of school going age do not fill this beautiful edifice built through the goodwill of philanthropists,” he said. Lasallian Developing World Projects (LDWP), a British NGO, funded the project estimated at 11 million cedis while the people provided land and communal labour.

The new school block replaces the old dilapidated Local Authority Primary school building, which is now too small to accommodate the pupils. Mr Osei-Wusu said the government would continue to support rural people to attain their educational, health and social objectives.

Naa Ranamini Sanda II, paramount chief of the Kaleo Traditional Area, thanked LDWP for its assistance and gave the assurance that they would make maximum use of the school.
