Kadjebi-Asato SSS honours high performing teachers

Kadjebi, April 20, GNA – Mr Isaac Amengor and Miss Janet Datse both tutors of Kadjebi-Asato Senior Secondary School on Wednesday received a 24-inch colour television set each for exceeding the benchmark set by the school authorities for members of staff.

To qualify for the award each subject teacher was required to produce 20 “As” or 60 “Bs” in any subject.

Mr Amengor’s mathematics class scored 21 “As” while Miss Datse’s social studies class achieved 78 “Bs” described as unprecedented in the history of the school.

The awards scheme, the first to be organized by the authorities also awarded a television set to the kitchen staff for preparing sumptuous meals and punctual.

Madam Doris Gli, Matron received the award on behalf of her staff. Mr Musah Yamba Issahaku, Headmaster of the school, said the strategy was devised to inspire members of staff and students to give off their best.

He was optimistic that with the support of members of staff and the Parents Teacher Association (PTA) great academic laurels would be achieved in future.

Mr Issahaku was confident that upgrading the school to an endowed school status that was nearing completion coupled with the increasing competence of staff ” the sky would be the limit for us.” He commended Government for fulfilling its promise to upgrade the school, which would solve most of its infrastructure inadequacies. Nana Akoto Brempong II, Chief of Akpafu-Todzi, and PTA Chairman presented 400 out of 800 plastic chairs promised to the school and appealed to students to pay PTA dues given to them by their parents. He said an 800-million cedi four-bedroom bungalow for staff being financed by the PTA was at the completion stage with plans by the PTA to purchase a bus for the school.

Mr Amengor on behalf of the recipients thanked the school authorities for the gesture and pledged to continue to work diligently to make the school a showpiece in the region.
