Kadhafi visits Asantehene

Kumasi, Ghana (PANA) – Libyan leader Moammar Kadhafi during his stay in the Ghanaian city of Kumasi (about 300 kilometres north of capital Accra) late Friday paid a courtesy call on the king of Otumfuor Osei Tutu of the Ashantis. The visit to the Ashantis is in response to an invitation by the King Osei Tutu when he (the king) led a delegation of Ashanti dignitaries visiting Libya last February.

During the February visit, the Ashanti king had praised Kadhafi’s vision for Africa as “a continent which needs unity to secure its future”.

The Libyan leader arrived in the city of Kumasi on his way to the Ghanaian capital, Accra, where he will take part in the African Union (AU) summit slated for1-3 July.
