Kade residents demonstrate over high power tariffs

Scores of residents of Akyem kade in the Eastern region today took to the streets to demonstrate against high electricity tariffs.

The angry residents claim bills charged them by the ECG are outrageous.

According to them, some users of the prepaid meters have recently been given bills between GHC500 and GHC3000.

The residents after today’s protest presented a petition to the Kwaebibrim DCE and the district head of the ECG appealing to them to rectify the problem as soon as possible.

They have given a two-week ultimatum for the problem to be solved or they move on to their next line of action.
