Justice Dotse as CJ would have ensured ethnic balance – Amaliba

Lawyer Abraham Amaliba has noted that although Justice Sophia Akufo is an excellent choice for the Chief Justice position, appointing Justice Dotse would have ensured an ethnic balance.

In an interview with Kaakyire Ofori Ayim on Atinka AM Drive, Lawyer Abraham Amaliba mentioned that the President of the Republic Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is loyal to people he has worked with in the past.

He stated that Sophia Akufo is qualified and has all the experience to be a Chief Justice, however, he argued that the president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo represents the Akan fraternity, his Vice President Mahmud Bawumia represents the Northern group, and the Speaker of Parliament Mike Oquaye represents the southern sector.

He added that making Justice Dotse the chief Justice would have solved the equation since Justice Dotse comes from the Volta region.

According to Lawyer Abraham Amaliba appointing Justice Sophia Akufo as Chief Justice will back the existing impression that Nana Addo’s government is a family and friend’s administration.
