Jumah honoured for promoting French

Kumasi, Oct 12, GNA- Mr. Benoit Olivier, Kumasi Metropolitan Director of Alliance Francaise, has lauded the twin-sister relationship between Kumasi and Treichville, in La Cote d’Ivoire, as the right direction to step up efforts to integrate Anglophone and francophone cultures.

He praised Mr. Maxwell Kofi Jumah, the Metropolitan Chief Executive in particular, for setting the pace in the promotion of the French language in the country.

Speaking at a graduation ceremony of the school, Mr Olivier presented Mr Jumah with a certificate of recognition. He said various computer programmes and French for business studies had been introduced in Kumasi to equip students with the requisite knowledge for the job market.

Mr. Kwame Frimpong, Public Relations Officer of the KMA, who received the certificate on behalf of Mr. Jumah, stressed the need for the French Embassy to establish a cultural centre in the Metropolis to facilitate the learning of French. 12 Oct.04
