Jukwa SDA Secondary School to hold first Speech Day

Gomoa Jukwa, C/R, June 4, GNA – The Gomoa Jukwa Seventh Day Adventist Secondary School, near Agona Swedru, has constructed a block of eight classrooms and teachers’ bungalows at a total cost of 330 million cedis.

The school has also procured 20 computers and its accessories worth 26.5 million cedis to enable the students to acquire knowledge on Information Technology (IT).

Pastor Richard Asiedu Ntriakwa, Proprietor, who disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview after launching the programme for the first anniversary and Speech and Prize Giving Day of the school scheduled to take place on June 6, at Gomoa Jukwa. He said the projects were financed through the contributions of members of the church and Parent Teacher Association (PTA) of the school.

Pastor Ntriakwa, who is also in-charge of the Swedru District branch of the SDA Church, noted that every student paid 50,000 cedis towards the completion of the projects.

He disclosed that the school had started another three-story building, which would comprise 27 classrooms estimated at 1.2 billion cedis to enable the authorities to increase the intake of students next academic year.

The Proprietor commended the Gomoa East Member of Parliament Mr Richmond Sam Quarm for donating 100 bags of cement from his share of common fund in support of the project.

He said the only problems confronting the school now was how to connect the school to the national grid and the construction of a girls’ dormitory, adding that at the movement the students were being housed outside the school, which made their control very difficult. Pastor Ntriakwa appealed to the Gomoa District Assembly, NGOs and other donors to support the school to promote secondary school education in the district.
