Judges are angry with government

The Magistrates and circuit court judges have called on the government to withdraw a purported letter that has reduced their conditions of service.

According to the representative of the group, Aboagye Tando, their conditions of service was approved in 2012 by the late President Atta Mills and currently being implemented.

The worried judges said there is no reason for the government to review and propose a new condition of service which will adversely affect them.

Mr Tando said the government cannot go ahead in implementing the reviewed condition of service as the group did not take part during the negotiations process.

Addressing the media after about four hours of a meeting by Judges and Magistrates at the premises of the Supreme Court, Mr Aboagye Tando said the group will advise itself if government carries through its decision.
