Juaso Circuit Court remands suspected drugs peddler

The Juaso Circuit Court has remanded two people over 35 parcels of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis, intercepted by a police patrol team at Konongo.

The pleas of Osei Agyemang Prempeh, owner of the parcels, and Emmanuel Bukari, driver of the Benz bus, on which the drugs had been concealed, were not taken.

They were ordered to re-appear on Thursday, December 20.

Police Chief Inspector Joseph Obeng told the court presided over by Justice Alex Obeng Asante that the drugs were seized on October 31, following a tip off.

Prempeh and Bukari who were transporting this from Berekum in the Brong-Ahafo Region fled when the bus was flagged down.

The vehicle was impounded and the accused later arrested at Berekum during investigations.
