JSS student commits suicide

Abeneso(W/R), April 20, GNA – A 17-year-old Junior Secondary School (JSS) student of Redeemer Raboni International School at Wassa Akropong has committed suicide.

The deceased, Esther Amoako was found hanging dead on a cocoa tree near their cottage at Abeneso a suburb of Japa near Wassa Akropong on Thursday April 20.

According to Mr Charles Amoako, father of the deceased, on Tuesday April 18 at about 8:00pm, before they went to bed, he cautioned his daughter to stop her promiscuous lifestyle and take her education serious.

He said at about 4:00am, on Thursday April 20, when he woke up, he saw his daughter sitting outside their room and asked her to go back to bed.

Mr Amoako said an hour later, when all efforts to trace her in the room had proved futile, she was found hanging on a cocoa tree with a nylon rope around her neck.

Police Chief Inspector Nelson Agbi of Wassa Akropong police who confirmed the incident said the corpse had been deposited at the Wassa Akropong Government Hospital for autopsy.
