JSS student and friend jailed six years

Akyem Swedru (E/R), Nov 8, GNA – An Akyem Swedru Circuit Court on Tuesday sentenced a JSS three student and his friend to a total of six years imprisonment on charges of conspiracy to steal and causing unlawful damage.

Emmanuel Agyei, a 20-year-old student of the Akyem Oda Anglican JSS and Kwaku Manu, a 19-year-old unemployed, were convicted on their own plea.

Prosecuting, Police Chief Inspector Ben Osei Kwadwo told the court that on October 19 the complainant and other tenants in a house at Akyem Asene in the Birim South District left for their various workplaces. Manu invited Agyei from Akyem Oda and attempted Breaking into a room. But they were caught in the act and handed over to the police.
