Journalists vote for national executives

Accra, March 9, GNA – Members of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) began voting on Thursday for national executives who would run the Association for the next three years.

Ms Sarah Akrofi-Quarcoo of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation and Mr Ransford Tetteh of Graphic Communications Group are contesting for the position of President while Mr Affail Monney and Mrs Charity Binka, both of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation are vying for the position of vice president. The contestants for Organising Secretary are Mr Dave Agbenu of New Times Corporation and Mr Alfred Ogbamey of Gye Nyame Concord while Ms Yaa Acquah of Ghana News Agency and Mrs Esi Asante of New Times Corporation are contesting for the position of treasurer. Voting begins at 0900 and ends at 1700 hours. Final results would be declared by the end of the day. The Electoral Commission is conducting the elections.
