…Over Missing Baggage
Turkish Airline has incurred the chagrin of four Ghanaian journalists whose luggage went missing on one of their airplanes, Flight Number TK 630.
The four journalists travelled to Italy from Ghana on October 6th, 2015 for an international fair dubbed Blue Sea Land Expo in the Italian District of Mazara, Sicily but were compelled to make-do with just single outfits during their stay because their luggage never arrived.
The four journalists, Emmanuel Opare Djan, Managing Editor of the Daily Democrat newspaper; Gabriel Ahiabor, a photo journalists with Graphic Corporation; Daniel Amoo, also a photo journalist, with the New Times Corporation and Emmanuel Coffie, a broadcast journalist with Radio Gold 90.5 FM, accompanied the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Madam Sherry Ayittey to Italy for the expo.
They have threatened to take legal action against Turkish Airline if they are not able to recover the luggage and adequately compensated for the embarrassment, shame, physical, psychological and emotional trauma suffered during their stay in Italy.
According to the four, they have since returned to Ghana but the missing luggage is yet to be returned even though they have officially reported the incident to the Airline.
The journalists have called on Turkish Airline to locate and return the missing baggage as soon as possible and also make provision for US$1 million compensation else they are heading for the courts for bigger damages.
