Journalist arrested for Asamoah Gyan blackmail attempt

Showbiz journalist, Osarfo Anthony, has been arrested by the police for allegedly blackmailing Asamaoh Gyan’s management in order to prevent him from further leaking evidence about the footballer’s alleged sex scandal with Sara Kwablah.

The reporter is alleged to have demanded a huge amount of money from the manager of the Black Stars captain, Samuel Anim Addo for him to stop running malicious stories on Gyan.

According to reports, the arrest was effected on Wednesday evening, July 29. According to Ghbase.com which is one of the platforms Osarfo Anthony contributes to, he was arrested by the police, after manager for Asamoah Gyan, Samuel Anim Addo had contacted him (Osarfo) to meet up for the footballer’s side of the story.

They entered into negotiations and apparently the reporter demanded a sum of GhC30,000 to ‘kill’ the story, unaware that the police was on standby to arrest him.

The arrest comes after Ghbase.com published an article, that Samuel Anim had suggested to the girl that, they ‘take care’ of the baby.

Osarfo Anthony writes for Razz Newspaper as the Assistant Editor, Ghbase.com and Ghanacelebrities.com. He is also a panel member on several entertainment discussion programs both or radio and TV including Anigyekrom on ATV, Entertainment Ghana on Neat FM, on Kasapa Radio among other platforms.

In June, Sarah Kwablah threatened to expose a sextape of an encounter she had with Ghanaian football star, Asamoah Gyan. Lawyer for Asamoah Gyan confirmed to several media houses that, yes indeed Asamoah Gyan had sexual relations with the said lady, Sarah.

Osarfo Anthony made several reports on ghbase.com including WhatsApp chats and audios between Asamoah Gyan and Sarah Kwablah.

One of the audios in which a voice similar to that of Asamoah Gyan was heard begging the girl to delete the video went viral and it appears Asamoah Gyan’s camp was not too happy about the exposé so they decided to go for the reporter behind it all.
