Jomoro District training 338 enumerators for census exercise

Half Assini,Sept.17,GNA- Mr Olando Ackumey, Jomoro District Statistician, has announced that 338 enumerators have been selected for training by the District to participate in the forth coming National Population and Housing Census.

He made this announcement at the start of a 10 day programme to train the enumerators, which is being organized by the District Statistical Service in collaboration with the District Census Implementation Committee.

According to Mr Ackumey after the training only those who will prove competent will be used for the exercise. He therefore appealed to the participants, mostly teachers, to take the training very seriously.

For the program, he added that some of the courses would include; the introduction to the census and legal provision, enumerators role and behaviour, preliminary organization before enumerators period one and two. He added that the exercise is very important to the government because that would be the basis for its development policies and programmes. Mr Ackumey appealed to the public to assist the selected enumerators by giving correct answers to questions to questions posed by them and thereby ensure a ensure credible data.
