Jomoro DCE escape death

Jomoro DCE, Mr.Sylvester Nuomah Daddieh, the District Chief Executive for Jomoro narrowly escaped death when an official vehicle in which he was travelling on was involved in an accident.

The accident occurred on the Half-Assini – Jaway Wharf road at about 0300 hours on Saturday May 2, 2015.

The Jomoro District Police Commander, Superintendent John Furguson Dzineku, made this known to the GNA at Half-Assini.

He said the DCE was travelling from Half-Assini to his hometown, Jaway, about five kilometres away, when at a portion of the road, outside Half-Assini township, his driver, Mr. Augustine Asomu, lost control of the steering resulting in the accident.

The District Police Commander said, according to the driver, he saw a fountain of water on the road gushing from a bust pipe across the road leading to a construction site, which he attempted to dodge and in the process the vehicle veered off the road into the bush.

He said the Toyota Hilux, with registration number GN 6573-12 somersaulted and got damaged severely, with the three occupants on board, including the daughter of the DCE sustained minor injuries and were treated and discharged at the Half-Assini Government hospital the same day.

Superintendent Dzineku said the vehicle has been towed to the District Assemblies guest house pending Driver Vehicle Licencing Authority (DVLA) examination whilst Police investigations continue.
