John Mahama left enough money for Nana Addo – Former NDC MP

Former Member of Parliament for Assin North, Samuel Ambre, has lashed out the ruling New Patriotic Party administration for creating a false impression that they inherited a weakened economy from the John Mahama-led administration.

Hon. Samuel Ambre stated on ATV’s Asem Yi Di Ka show that the Nana Akufo-Addo led government had been economical with the truth and refused to tell Ghanaians that its predecessor put in place structures to enable successive governments to operate smoothly without facing financial difficulties.

He explained that former President Mahama had been meticulous about state resources and left behind enough resources to fund projects like the Ghana@60 celebration which took place under the current NPP administration.

“NPP members shouldn’t think that Ghanaians are not intelligent. When they took over from the NDC, they have been able to pay workers and have enough money to celebrate Ghana@60. They have also purchased enough cars and appointed several deputies to a ministry”, he said.

He, therefore, warned the Akufo-Addo led government not to paint a horrible picture of the economy they inherited from the previous NDC administration.
