John Jinapor to contest Yapei-Kusawgu Parliamenatry seat

There are clear indications that when the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) opens nominations for its upcoming Parliamentary primaries from August 27 through September 10, 2015, John Abdulai Jinapor will be among the first to pick one.

The Deputy Minister for Power, Kasapafmonline.com can say, is ready to contest the seat and is reportedly leaving no stone unturned to ensure that he wins the seat back for the NDC.

The incumbent, Alhaji Amadu Seidu, also a member of the NDC, has announced not to contest for the seat again.

He has been occupying the seat from January 1993 to date.

The decision of Mr. Jinapor to contest the seat was announced on his friend’s facebook wall, Nuhu Ndebilla, on Thursday.

“The humble and hardworking Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor has a brighter chance of winning the Yapei/Kusawgu seat again for the NDC which has a dominant following in the Central Gonja area. The first huddle would be defeating the heavy weights contesting the mandate of the NDC in [the] upcoming primaries,” Ndebilla wrote on his facbook wall which was accompanied by Mr. Jinapor’s campaign poster.

The NDC goes to the polls on November 7, 2015 to decide on Presidential and Parliamentary candidates for the 2016 general elections.
