JJ Suffers From ?Withdrawal Syndrome? – MP

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Kade Constituency, Hon. Ofosu Asamoah, has stated that former President Rawlings is suffering from ?withdrawal syndrome?.

The former president, he said is having difficulty accepting that he is no more the president of the Republic of Ghana. Otherwise why would he refuse to oblige to a police invitation over a matter on which he has information that could be helpful to the police.

Hon. Ofosu Asamoah described s arrogant Rawlings? attitude of ?honouring the invitation by the police in his own opportune time.

According to the Kade MP, Rawlings? earlier reluctance (to attend the police call) constitutes an office, which is dangerous, invidious and subversive of the country?s constitutions to which he (Rawlings) appended his signature.

The attitude of the ex-president was one of arrogance, incorrigibility and criminal and in fact sets a bad precedent for the future leaders of this country because he is virtually teaching the young ones the bad attitude of defying rules and regulations, the MP affirmed.

He was invited to assist the police in the alleged assault of a young man at Ashaiman, the Kade MP recalled. Instead of honouring the invitation the former president rather sent a text message to an Accra-based FM station to the effect that he would not honour the invitation. The MP for Kade called on the former president to be law-abiding and desist from being belligerent towards the government for no reason and for all the wrong reasons.

Hon. Ofosu Asamoah pointed out that since Mr. Rawlings is a public figure who benefits from a six-week holiday and feeds his family at public expense, his activities are of much interest to the good people of this country. ?It is the civic responsibility of every person to assist the police investigations, therefore it is an offense to anybody to conceal any evidence from the police, he said.
