JJ Is Not Our Burden – Antwi-Danso

An International Political Economist, Dr. Vladimir Antwi-Danso, has called on Ghanaians not to over-burden themselves with the agenda of bringing ex-President Rawlings to justice over crimes allegedly committed during his constitutional rule.

He added that, government should not be seen as making its agenda to pursue the ex-President.

Dr. Antwi-Danso was addressing a cross-section of African journalists in Accra where he urged Ghanaians to allow the National Reconciliation Commission (NRC) to do its work without social or political pressure.

Dr. Antwi-Danso observed that several people were impatient in calling for the ex-President’s blood and had gone to the extent of agitating for the removal of constitutional provisions so that the former President could be tried.

According to him, such approach was not necessary and called for restraint to allow institutional governance to work.
