JIRAPA COMMISSIONS 76 MILLION CEDIS HOSTEL

JIRAPA, 16 NOV. The Jirapa/Lambussie District Chief Executive, Mr.. Jacob Boon has commissioned a 76 million-cedi girls hostel for the Jirapa senior secondary school at Jirapa. The hostel was constructed under the European Union (EU)/Government of Ghana fourth micro projects programme. The assembly provided 64 million cedis from its share of the common fund while the EU gave a back up of 12 million cedis. Mr.. Boon said the EU had provided 154 million cedis as its contribution towards the completion of on-going projects in the district. These include a day-care at sabuli which is expected to be completed by the middle of next month at a cost of 39 million cedis. The DCE announced that the EU is also providing an additional funding of 60 million cedis to the assembly for the construction of three-unit classroom block at wullung in the Tugoh electoral area a cost of 37 million cedis. The assembly has the option to use the remainder of the money for any other project of its choice.
