JIDA extends hand of support to East Gonja District

Accra, Nov.1, GNA- Juxtapose Integrated Development Association (JIDA), a non- governmental organisation (NGO) is collaborating with the East Gonja District Assembly in the Northern Region to enhance good governance.

The project being supported by IBIS, an international NGO had led to the formation of civil society organizations, which are supporting public participation in national and local governance programmes. Mr Jerry Draman Jackson, Head of JIDA, who made this known to the Ghana News Agency in an interview in Accra said his organisation had also collaborated with the Community Initiative Food Security Project to sensitise people on how to identify projects that would help reduce poverty in their communities.

JIDA has also teamed up with the Forestry Commission and the Food and Agriculture Organisation and Forest Watch to organise programmes in the Northern, Upper East and Upper West regions to educate the people on environmental protection and afforestation.
