JHS boy hangs himself over a girl

Richard Damale, an 18-year-old junior high school (JHS) student of 3B in Garrison School at Liberation Barracks Sunyani, has allegedly hanged himself in an uncompleted building at the Asuakwa Area in the Sunyani municipality of the Brong-Ahafo Region.

Police found the body of Richard in supine position with a rope and bruises around the neck on 19th July at about 3:30 pm, after the assembly man of the Asuakwa Electoral Area, Emanuel Kaba, had reported the incident to the Sunyani Municipal police.

A note found beside the body read, ‘God forgive me my sins and goodbye Juliet. We shall meet again,” making the police suspect that Richard Damale hanged himself possibly because of his love with a lady. The body has since been deposited at the Brong-Ahafo Regional Hospital for autopsy.

Speaking to DAILY GUIDE on the incident, ASP Christopher Tawiah, B/A Regional Police spokesman, said the law enforcers were conducting investigation to find out who that Juliet is and also determine what drove Richard to commit the unthinkable act.
