JB’s murder: Stan Dogbe not under investigation – Police

The Police have dismissed rumors that Presidential staffer Stan Dogbe has been invited over the killing of the Abuakwa North MP Joseph Boakye Danquah- Adu.

According to the police, the suspect in custody over the matter has not mentioned Mr. Dogbe’s name as is being circulated on social media.

“The attention of the Police has been drawn to stories circulating in the Public domain that the name of Mr. Stan Dogbe and other political personalities have been mentioned in connection with the murder of the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North.

“The police can state on authority that the suspect has never mentioned Mr Stan Dogbe’s name or any politician’s name as of now,” portions of the statement signed by the director of public affairs of the Police SUPT. Cephas Arthur stated.

Meanwhile, the presidential staffer had in an earlier statement condemned rumours that he had been mentioned in connection with the murder. He also chastised the Police for being mute over the allegations against him.

“I cannot explain the deliberate silence of the Ghana Police Service in allowing what is a politically motivated and concocted story to fester throughout the day. But let me emphasize that:

“I have not been arrested by any security agency. I have not and have never been involved in any criminal act or with criminally-minded persons. I have not and have never offered anybody any inducement to commit any criminal act.

I have never sent a threatening SMS or message to anybody involved in this matter and have no dealings whatsoever with any such persons. I have not been contacted by any security agency or officer in connection with any criminal act involving the murder of anybody,” the staffer said in a statement.

The opposition lawmaker was stabbed multiple times to death at his East Legon residence during the wee hours of Tuesday. The police has arrested a prime suspect Daniel Asiedu. Preliminary investigations reveal the assailants may have used a ladder to enter the MP’s room via his window to execute their plan.
