He said “Do we ask ourselves where these girls sleep at night? their plight at night is worrying, especially during rainy seasons not to mention their beautiful but vulnerable children.

“To me, there is no better way for institutions, philanthropist to show their spirit of humanity than extending support to the Kayayei. I, therefore, urge all to show compassion to these hardworking girls.”

According to the estate developer, “Providing training to these girls is a way of preventing the cycle of poverty since the skills they acquire would enable them to be economically viable and especially against men who wants to take advantage of them.”

Mr Jibril, who toured the Kayayei Vocational Center at Abenase and the accommodation facility at Mamobi near Sulemana Hospital donated 20,000 Cedi to support the Bridgewater Project. His wife and partner Mrs Amida Jibril also donated sanitary towels to the Kayayei after demonstrating it usage to the girls.
