Jasikan to host May Day celebration in V/R

Jasikan (V/R), April 24, GNA – Jasikan Roman Catholic Junior Secondary School Park will be the venue for the Volta Regional celebration of May Day this year, on the theme: “The Labour and nation building-50 years and beyond”. Workers and residents of Jasikan will undertake communal clean-up on Friday April 27 to herald the May Day celebration. Mr Gordon Bodza, Volta Regional Industrial Relations Officer (IRO) of the Public Service Workers Union (PSWU) disclosed this in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Jasikan.

He said on that day the Ghana Trades Union Congress (GTUC) and other workers’ groups such as Civil Servants Association (CSA) of Ghana, Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), Nurses Association and Judicial Service Association would converge at the venue for the May Day parade. Mr Bodza said members of the various labour groups would go on a route march on the principal streets of Jasikan to herald in the event.
