Japanese Project Inaugurated

Mrs. Kazuko Asai, Japan’s Ambassador to Ghana, inaugurated a six-unit classroom block for the Akasito Local Primary School at Amefinukope in the Ketu District of the Volta Region last Friday.

The Government of Japan extended a grant aid of $24,740 under its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Projects (GGP) in October 2001, to the Amefinukope Unit Committee for the construction of the school block.

Ambassador Asai said a proper learning environment has now been provided for the pupils of the school . She expressed delight in the decision of the Government of Japan to select the Amefinukope project out of over 500 applications.
