Japanese Ambassador Calls on Amissah-Arthur

The Japanese government has re-assured Ghana of continued support to help improve livelihoods and promote growth particularly in deprived communities in Ghana.

During a courtesy call on Acting President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur at the Flagstaff House, the Japanese Ambassador to Ghana Naoto Nikai congratulated President Mahama and the NDC for successfully gaining the mandate of the Ghanaian people to lead them for the next four years.

He said Ghanaians have indeed demonstrated to the international community that their democracy has come of age. This he said was evident in the peaceful and transparent manner in which the election was conducted.

He said Ghana and Japan have and continue to enjoy cordial relations which has over the years seen some significant growth in the areas of education and health, Agriculture, Capacity Building and Private Sector development.

Acting President, Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur was grateful to the government of Japan and said government will continue to work hard to deepen the co-operation that the two countries share.

He added that government is very much committed to creating the conditions that will propel growth and provide jobs for the people. These he said, remain a priority for President Mahama and the NDC government for the next four years.
