JAK Foundation strengthens partnership with KNUST

Kumasi, Sept. 22, GNA – The John Agyekum Kufuor Foundation, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), to establish a framework to coordinate activities o= f the two institutions in the areas of research, information sharing and consultancy services.

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor and Professor William Otoo Ellis= , Vice Chancellor of the KNUST, jointly signed the document at a ceremony in Kumasi. According to the University’s Relations Office, this was witnessed by two former Heads of State, Former President Horst Kohler of Germany and former President Thabo Mbeki of South Africa.

This was on the sidelines of the unveiling of the plague of the John Agyekum Kufuor Presidential Library and Museum, an initiative meant to bolster research activities of the university.

Ex-President Kufuor noted that the KNUST was one of the strategic institutions of higher learning in Africa, whose potentials ought to be constantly tapped to address challenges in the society. It had over the years churned out competent products, spearheading the nation’s development agenda in all fields of endeavour.

Ex-President Kufuor said his Foundation was happy to be associated wit= h academic work at the University, and invited all stakeholders to invest in higher education to generate appropriate ideas and technology for industria= l and national development. Prof. Ellis appealed to the KNUST Alumni to put their expertise and knowledge at the disposal of society to enhance the well-being of the people. He lauded ex-President Kufuor for the initiative and said he was confident that the two parties would work within the terms of the agreement= ..
