Five suspects on detention at Ofankor Police Station on Thursday afternoon escaped through the ceiling of the toilet in their cell.
Four of the escapee suspects according to police investigators, were in detention and undergoing investigations for their alleged involvement in stealing whilst the fifth one was being held for robbery.
All the five include; Kwaku Ahiale, 31 a robbery remand prisoner, Alhassan Waal 20, Sofo Mohammed 22, George Annor, 22 and Danladi Agera 20.
Police reveal that one G/Sgt Wisdom Kwame Unulinyun in charge and PW/L/Cpl Agnes Effah both counter NCO and SO respectively for Ofankor Station reported that the five (5) inmates in custody had escaped.
Inspection of the cells police revealed that the escapees created an outlet through the ceiling in the toilet and escaped through the roofing.
Information has been relayed to investigators, motorbike and vehicular patrols to hunt for them.
