Jail Oti Bless – NPP member

A leading member of the New Patriotic Party, Fatima Abubakar, has called on authorities to imprison Oti Bless, based on rumours that he had also made disrespectful comments about some female dignitaries in the judicial council.

Making her submission on TV Africa’s Maakye show, she expressed her surprise at the recent disclosure that a presidential nominee for a ministerial position, Oti Bless, was also guilty of disrespecting the judicial council after an audio of him making unpleasant comments about a female member of the council was leaked.

“I am sure that the president has heard of the issue… Oti should not be appointed as a minister… he must join his colleagues in prison…When I heard it, I was surprised. We all know that the tape was sent to the Supreme Court… I am wondering what kind of magic was used to erase his part of the audio … we wake up to hear that a member of Parliament has spoken against a dignified woman, claiming that she kidnapped someone… Georgina Theodora Wood is the head of the judicial council… and the Ministry of Gender, Women and Children Affairs and other female activist groups have remained silent”, she stated.

She added that that act of Oti Bless should ‘not be entertained’ since ‘no one would want to be addressed in that manner’. She questioned the Gender Ministry for remaining mute on the Oti Bless issue though it (the Gender Ministry) and other civil groups spoke against Kennedy Agyapong when he alleged that Madam Charlotte Osei, the chairperson of the Electoral Commission, had ‘sex with the president to be rewarded her current position’.
