Ivorian President congratulates Mahama

Alassane Ouattara, President of Cote d’Ivoire has congratulated President John Dramani Mahama on his electoral victory on December 7.

He said according to all observers including the ECOWAS Observation Mission, the elections were held in a peaceful and transparent atmosphere which honours the Ghanaian democracy, which has been cited as an example in both Africa and the world.

“I take this opportunity to address, on behalf of the Ivorian people, the Government and on my own behalf, my heartfelt and warm congratulations, for the confidence reposed in you by the brotherly people of Ghana”, he said in a statement issued and copied to Ghana News Agency on Tuesday in Accra.

President Ouattara expressed his readiness to work with the government of Ghana for the strengthening of friendly relations and cooperation which already exist between the two countries.
