I’ve never been NPP – Sam George

The governing National Democratic Congress’ parliamentary candidate for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George Nartey, has denied being an opposition turncoat.

“I’ve never been NPP, no family member of mine is NPP,” Mr George Nartey told Ekow Mensah-Shalders on Class91.3fm’s Executive Breakfast Show on Monday.

According to him, rumours that he was a member of the main opposition New Patriotic Party were cooked up in the “mischief mill”.

The rumours were repeated by his mentor and veteran politician, E.T. Mensah, whom he beat at the NDC’s parliamentary primaries in November last year.

According to George Nartey, even though he worked at the office of Vice President Alhaji Aliu Mahama during the reign of President John Kufuor of the NPP, he has never been a member of that party.

He maintains he has a close relationship with the family of the late Aliu Mahama but has never flirted with the NPP, irrespective of that closeness to the former second family.
