It’s time to focus on the micro economy – Dr Nduom

Accra, March 6, GNA – Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, Presidential candidate of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP) on Thursday said it was time for Ghana to focus on what would bring money into people’s pockets. He called for a new leadership of the country that would not only focus on developing the macro economy but also the micro sector. Dr Nduom was speaking with the Ghana News Agency on the sidelines of a national parade as part of Ghana’s 51st Independence anniversary celebration, which was also attended by flagbearers of some political parties.

Ghana marks her Independence on the 6th of March every year with national and regional parades of personnel from the security services and school children.

Dr Nduom, accompanied by his wife Yvonne to the parade grounds, said the country had achieved a lot of progress since 1993 but added that its best years were the period between 1957 and 1966 under the rule CPP leader, Dr Kwame Nkrumah, whose development policies he was pursuing.

He said the country still lacked good drinking water, safe roads, good schools and jobs for everybody, especially the youth. “The next 50 years should be used to develop these as well as making people feel monies in their pockets.” 06 March 08
