It’s surprising to see a planted spying device in my office – Amewu

The Minister of Lands and Natural Resources John Peter Amewu has expressed shock over the retrieval of a secret audio-visual recorder by the National Security which was planted in his office.

He described as frightening the device planted in his office to spy him.

The device which was planted in a huge Coat of Arms plaque hanging in Mr Amewu’s office was discovered during a screening by the National Security.

The espionage set up included a storage unit, a transmitter and a camera. It is believed to be able to pick a whisper 35-feet away.

“It is quite surprising,” he told Accra-based Joy FM.

It is unclear if the device was planted in his office to monitor his conversations relating to Galamsey or his private talks.
