It’s only “logical” to re-elect me in 2016 – Mahama

President John Mahama has stated that it is only “logical” for Ghanaians to re-elect him in next year’s presidential elections.

According to him, a second term in office will offer him the opportunity to complete the various developmental projects and policies he has commenced in his first term .

Mr. Mahama was elected President of Ghana after he served five months of the remaining term of the late President John Mills’ following his sudden demise in 2012.

His critics have claimed he ascended the presidency by default and not through competence. He has often been accused as incompetent, mostly by members of the opposition New Patriotic Party.

Reacting to the accusations, Mr Mahama told an NDC gathering in Accra on Monday that his critics will see the full manifestation of his performance during his second term in office.

“I took over from where president mills left off. And I serve for the rest of his term for five months and I went to the Ghanaian people and I said; here I am, do I deserve to be your president; and they said yes, and they gave me four years.

“So I have served my first term and its only logical that Ghanaians will add the second term so we can continue the agenda of transformation,” Mr Mahama said to a cheering crowd as part of his #changinglives tour.
