It?s Now ?Skirt And Suit? Vote, Claims NDC At Cape Coast

Mr Ebo Barton-Oduro, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Cape Coast has confidently stated that come December 7, 2004, Oguaaman will vote overwhelmingly for the party. He also believes that the ?skirt and blouse? puzzle, which has become a bogey on the two leading parties in the country?s first national capital, is waning and that the people are now on the side of the NDC.

In an interview with ?The Evening News? at the weekend, Mr Barton-Oduro said, ?this time the people are changing their minds. Some of them have been persuaded and they are coming to our side. They will no more vote for ?skirt and blouse, but ?skirt suit.?

Explaining his optimism further, the NDC candidate said that majority of Cape Coasters had decided to vote for President Kufuor for the Presidency, and for him as their parliamentary candidate.

However, he said that the people of Oguaa were now yearning to vote for an all-NDC because they were gradually gaining confidence in Professor Evans Atta Mills, the NDC flagbearer. He said that the goodwill of the NDC was boosted by the launching of the party?s campaign manifesto at the Victoria Park in September, this year.

According to him, the launching boosted his ego and that he considered it quite significant. ?It was effective because for a long time, people thought the NDC was dead?, he said.
