It’ll be very easy working with Mosquito – Kofi Adams

Newly elected National Organiser of the governing National Democratic Congress, Kofi Adams says contrary to perceptions that working with retained General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia will be a hell of a time, “it’s going to be very easy working” together.

There’s no love lost between the two politicians who worked as General Secretary and Deputy General Secretary in their previous tenure.

Asiedu Nketia endorsed Yaw Boateng Gyan, the recently defeated incumbent ahead of the Saturday congress held in Kumasi in the Ashanti region.

Prior to the congress, Nketia took a subtle swipe at Adams by describing him as a disloyal person.

His jab at former President Jerry Rawlings’s Spokesperson is in reference to a voice suspected to be that of Adams – which was heard on a secret tape unearthed a few years ago – conspiring with opposition elements against President John Mills (late).

Adams has, however, always insisted on his innocence and said he never betrayed the party as alleged against him.

He told Morning Starr host Kafui Dey on Monday that: “I knew very well and clearly when I was going into this contest that Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia was going to be my General Secretary whether he supported me or not.

“I understood what we went through as a matter of choice. His choice was Yaw [Boateng Gyan] which did not happen. Now the delegates have spoken, and we have to work together…and it’s going to be very easy…We have been working together since 2005,” Adams noted.
