Italian cultural week website launched

The official website of the Italian cultural week celebration in Ghana was launched today in Accra.

The event, which is the first of its kind to be organised by the Italian Embassy in Accra, is to showcase the rich culture of the Italian people to Ghanaians and to give the Italian community in Ghana a feel of home.

The website www.italianculturalweek.org/gh designed by GhanaWeb Ventures is to inform and educate the public about the rich culture of the Italian people, to intimate prospective guests on the line up of the programme and post celebration updates.

It is on record that Ghana and Italy have had cordial bilateral relations in various fields, over a long period of time.

According to Laura Carpini, the Italian Ambassador to Ghana, there are about 50,000 Ghanaians living in Italy. “Currently, there are about 800 Italians living in Ghana with 500 registered with the embassy.”

Sponsors of the event include major Italian estate giants such as Casa Trasacco Construction Firm, Micheletti & Co Ltd, Alitalia, De Simone Group and Consar Limited and energy giants, Eni.

Visit www.italianculturalweek.org/gh for updates on the week-long celebration.
