Marriage counsellor, Opanin Kwadwo Kyere has advised husbands and men in general to support their wives instead of discouraging them from pursuing their ambitions of becoming great personalities in society.
Opanin Kyere who was speaking at a marriage seminar organised at the Assemblies of God Central Church at Ring Way Estate in Accra, entreated men to obliterate the perception that when women, particularly their wives assume higher social statuses, they would become bossy and disrespectful.
‘’The men always think that when their wives always get ahead of them, they would not respect them so the average Ghanaian man always want to be ahead of the woman so they can be beating and cheating them,” he said.
“They want to be more academically inclined than the woman, have more money than them and so on. I want them to understand that the climate has changed and they also have to change along with the world,” Opanin Kyere reiterated.
He maintained that until men get rid of such ‘primitive’ thoughts, they cannot experience the Grace of God, saying ‘’you cannot experience God’s grace until you stop your minds from harbouring such primitive and negative thoughts’’.
