“It is finished indeed it is finished” – Chaplain General

Accra, March 25, GNA – The Very Reverend Benjamin Dennis Quansah, Chaplain- General of the Ghana Police Church says when Jesus Christ said; “it is finished” he had indeed accomplished his mission to reconcile man to God.

He said Jesus said: “It is finished” because from that point in time God became available to all those who believed in Jesus Christ. The Chaplain-General was summing up the six statements Christ made on the cross at the Good Friday Service of the Church.

He said what happened was a battle between God and man to establish the type of relationship that should exist between them and ended with the proof of the sufficiency of God.

Very Rev Quansah urged Christians to exhibit fellow feeling, forgive one another’s transgressions since the ways of men led to confusion while the way of God led to compassion.

In a sermon the Very Reverend J.M.Y. Edusa-Eyison, Associate Minister of the Church, said the disciples forsook Christ after Judas had betrayed him and asked where the members of the congregation would have been in a similar situation.

He said any ungodly act committed by Christians constituted denial of Christ adding that Christ suffered pain because Pontius Pilate decided to pervert justice.

Rev Edusa-Eyison said Christians could hope to see the resurrected Christ and love and worship him, adding that Christ would call them by their names.
