ISS congratulates alumni on their appointments

The International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) has congratulated Mr. Prosper Douglas Kweku Bani and Mrs Marietta Brew Appiah –Barnes on their appointment as Chief of Staff at the Presidency and Minster for Justice and Attorney General respectively.

A statement issued by ISS, copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Wednesday in Accra, said that the appointments of the two alumni by President John Dramani Mahama have made the Institute proud and that “the two share a common study background at ISS in the Netherlands.”

According to the statement, Mr. Bani was enrolled for the Master of Arts (MA) in Politics and Development Strategies, and Mrs Appiah- Barnes perused a Diploma in International Law and Development, at the ISS, an academic institute for research and teaching in development studies, which was formed in 1952. It said that more than 11,000 of its alumni were in leading positions in the world and had proven to be change agents of the world.

Annually, 300 to 400 students come from more than 70 countries, mainly developing countries, and transition economies to study at ISS, and it has 350 alumni currently in Ghana, and 12 Ghanaian students taking part in the ongoing MA programme.
