ISODEC holds workshop for parents of scholarship beneficiaries

Dwaaho(Ash), Dec. 17, GNA- A two-day skill training has been held by the Integrated Social Development Centre (ISODEC) for parents of its scholarship beneficiaries at Dwaaho in the Ahafo Ano North District of Ashanti .

The workshop aimed at assisting the parents to undertake some economic activities to support the education of their children who are currently enjoying ISODEC’S scholarship package.

Addressing the workshop, Mrs. Emelia Sakyiama of the Women Council Foundation, an NGO in Sunyani, said it was expected that at the end of the workshop, parents might have a fair knowledge on the need to educate their girl-children.

Mrs. Vida Korang, the Tepa District Co-ordinator for ISODEC, commended the Ahafo Ano District for its commitment to support the girl-child project, which started six years ago.

About 54 women who participated in the workshop were taught how to make pomade, powder and tie and dye and batik.
