Islamic Mission bagged 55 million cedis for training college project

Kumasi, Feb 28, GNA- The Islamic Mission Secretariat mobilised 55 million cedis at the end of its 43rd annual national delegates conference in Kumasi for the construction of an Islamic Teacher Training College at Duayaw-Nkwanta in the Brong-Ahafo Region. The Mission has already acquired 150-acre land for the project, which begins this year. The four-day conference on the theme: “Islam and Capacity Building” attracted over 500 delegates all over the country.

Alhaji Yakubu Manu, National Chairman of the Mission, said the theme for the conference was most appropriate since education is very important to the growth of Islam. All Muslims, he said must support the college project to promote and develop both secular and Islamic education in Ghana. Sheikh Ishaak Nuamah, General Secretary of the Mission said youth capacity building was top on the agenda of the Mission. He said so far 350 youth have benefited from the capacity building programme.
