Islamic Community initiates projects

Akim Osino, (E/R), Sept. 14, GNA – The Islamic Community at Akim Osino, near Akim Anyinam, in the Fanteakwa District has initiated development projects at the cost of 50 million cedis under a five-year programme.

The projects included the construction of a Mosque and a six-unit classroom block, for its primary school.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at Akim Osino on Sunday, the project officer of the community, Mr Awudu Chamba, said work on the Mosque had been completed and it is being used.

He said work on the classroom block would commence soon, saying funding of the projects was being done through voluntary contributions of 20,000 per man and 10,000 cedis per woman and donations by some philanthropists.

Mr Chamba said the community would welcome any assistance from the Fanteakwa District Assembly to enable it to complete the work on the primary school as early as possible.
