Irish friends donate to Wenchi Methodist Hospital

Wenchi, Dec 15, GNA- Some Irish friends of Wenchi Methodist Hospital have donated 150 million cedis to the hospital for the construction of a children’s ward.

Mr. B.C.K. Botwe, the hospital’s administrator, told newsmen that work on the project was progressing steadily and was at the roofing stage.

He said the Reverend Dr. Brenden led a team of consultant urologists from Ireland last year during which they promised to raise funds towards the project.

Mr Botwe commended the Irish friends for the gesture and called on NGOs, and the Wenchi District Assembly to come to the aid of the hospital.

In another development, heads of departments of the hospital have been taken through a two-day management workshop aimed at sharpening their leadership skills and also to prepare them for the take-off of the mutual health insurance scheme in the district.
