Irate youth lock up EP Church over pastor’s transfer

Irate youth members of the Evangelical Presby Church at Mafikumasi in the Central Tongu district of the Volta region, Sunday, locked up the church in protest to the transfer of their local pastor.

According to the youth, the yet-to-be identified pastor was transferred “illegally” by the headquarters of the church.

Spokesperson for the group, Emila Mesamaku told Starr news’ Emmanuel Atupka that the demonstration was triggered when members received an “unexpected letter” from the headquarters that the pastor had been transferred”.

Mesamaku warned that the youth will keep the church locked until the decision is reversed by the national leadership.

“Our message to the national headquarters is that we want our pastor back. This demonstration is in support of our pastor. Until we hear something from the headquarters, even after ten years, it will not be opened”, he stated.
