Irate NDC youth burns five vehicles; vandalise party property

Irate young supporters of the governing National Democratic Congress have gone on the rampage in the Nkwanta North District of the Volta region and burnt five of the party’s vehicles.

District Chief Executive, Paul Livingstone Dzato confirmed the incident to XYZ News on Thursday evening.

The vandalism by the NDC youth followed an announcement made on local radio stations in the region that Mr. Dzato had been re-nominated by the president to continue as District Chief Executive.

The vandalism, according to the DCE, was an impromptu reaction to his re-nomination by the president.

The irate youth claim Mr Dzato is a member of the main opposition New Patriotic Party and a mole in the NDC.

This is the second time that angry NDC youth have resorted to violence to protest a DCE-nominee of the president.

Recently, a mob of angry youth of the Party in Salaga in the Northern region vandalised and torched the party’s Constituency office in protest of the president’s nomination of one Lookman as DCE.
