Iran to improve relations with Ghana

Accra June 30, GNA – Iran is set to improve on her relations with Ghana especially in economics and trade, Mr Vallollah Mohammadi, Iranian Ambassador in Ghana, said on Thursday when he paid a courtesy call on Papa Owusu Ankomah, Minister of the Interior. He said as part of efforts at improving the relations, the Iranian Clinic would be upgraded to a hospital to serve a larger purpose.

The Ambassador said for the past 17 years, the Iranian Embassy’s Department that dealt with agriculture and rural development had established about 120 schools throughout the country. It also trains people in ICT. Mr Vallollah Mohammadi called on the Government to support the Embassy in strengthening the relations between the two countries.

Papa Owusu Ankomah said the relations between Ghana and Iran had been a long-standing one and that Ghana had learnt a lot from Iran in the past and continued to learn from them. He urged the Ambassador to help intensify trade relations between Ghana and Iran as both countries had a lot to benefit from one another. Papa Owusu Ankomah pledged the Government’s support for the Embassy.
